8 Secrets to Success – Great 3 minute TED Talk by Richard St. John

I bloody love TED Talks.

This is one of my favorites.  Richard St. John breaking down his 8 steps to success in 3 captivating minutes that might inspire you just a bit.

Its easy to see why this is one of the most viewed TED Talks out there.

Absolutely love the acronym for CRAP:

  • Criticism
  • Rejection
  • Assholes
  • Pressure

Richard is the author of The 8 Traits Successful People Have In Common: 8 To Be Great

This book has been called “the ultimate guide to success.”

It’s a real-life, practical guide to achievement – and at the same time it’s entertaining, funny, and inspiring.

Author Richard St. John spent ten years researching success and doing face-to-face interviews with Bill Gates, Martha Stewart, Richard Branson, the Google founders, and over 500 other extraordinarily successful people.

He analyzed every word they said, built one of the world’s largest, most organized databases on success, and finally discovered “The 8 Traits Successful People Have In Common.”

These “8 To Be Great” are the foundation for success in anything, whether it’s business, science, sports, healthcare, arts, or life.

I have liked “Ted” up until I heard that Monica Lewinski is coming to Vancouver where she will be the keynote speaker and her subject is that she is the first one ever to be bullied! Not only is she wrong, she will talking about her life in the Whitehouse and the flack she took as a result of her stupidity with Bill Clinton.
Who cares? As far as I am concerned, Monica was the architect of her own misery and I am really surprised that the “Ted” people would still find any interest in this story. I am disappointed.

I had not heard about Ms Lewinski’s talk in Vancouver.
However it doesnt bother me. I still enjoy the TED Talks.
      Thanks for the comment.

  • Great post! I don’t watch a lot of TED talks, but I always end up watching ones that are about happiness, creativity, and human psychology. One particular talk I love was Brené Brown on the power of vulnerability: http://www.ted.com/talks/brene_brown_on_vulnerability/

  • Great short video to get motivated into action! I read Steven Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective “Teens” as a young adult and it stayed with me in my adulthood. The concepts are true. I like these tips you’re shared because being passionate, working and being focused are key no matter what you’re pursuing. Great share!
